Matt black edo SLR

Power upgrade matters little, as edo reworks look of McLaren Mercedes

The McLaren Mercedes SLR might no longer be in production but that hasn't stopped German tuner edo from building the 722hp SLR Black Arrow.

The Black Arrow can be identified by its matt black body and 21-inch edo wheels.  Inside, the SLR gets leather/Alcantara bucket seats, an Alcantara steering wheel and carbon fibre pieces for the dash, centre console and door trims.  In-car entertainment is provided by a new custom sound system featuring navigation, phone, TV and iPod integration.

Under the bonnet the supercharger drive ratio has been changed and the ECU reprogrammed.  Combined with a free-flowing exhaust system the engine develops 722hp and 889Nm.

Performance claims for the Black Arrow include 0-100km/h in 3.4-seconds with 300km/h coming up 21.1 seconds later.  Top speed has been 'limited' to 345km/h.

The modifications were carried out by edo competition Motorsport in Ahlen, Germany.
