More extreme power for R8

New 735hp Audi R8 the work of Hugh Heffner?!

We were amazed when we heard that Playboy magnate Hugh Heffner was offering performance boosts, especially when he's just celebrated his 85th birthday. Seems like you can't keep him down.

Then we realised Heffner Performance is a totally different kind of performance enhancer and tunes the Audi R8 with the aid of turbocharging. The latest R8 to come from this Sarasota, Florida-based outfit is a twin-turbo V10 version of the R8 with some 735hp on tap.

Power is increased from the standard R8 V10's 525hp, though Heffner has not released any acceleration or top speed statistics. It does say the upgrade is a bolt-on conversion and is covered by a 12-month, 12,000-mile warranty.

No word on price either for the conversion, but don't expect change from $30,000 (about €20,700) for the USA-based upgrade.
