The press release also contained a tantalising mention of the AMG One's active aerodynamics, which is apparently undergoing wind tunnel testing right now. The photographs of the car shown here clearly show the multi-part extendable rear wing, which has been designed for maximum downforce when the car is in Race mode. And that's all we've been told sadly. Swipe through the image gallery and you'll also notice the active flaps over the front wheels, which are complemented by a movable splitter under the nose.
Anything else?
Mercedes-AMG has decked out a truck and trailer with extendable sides to act as a mobile showroom for the One and named the roadshow 'The Future of Driving Performance'. Future buyers can sit in an example of the car and go through individual equipment options with a specialist, looking at colours and materials, etc. Think of it as a very fancy car configurator that comes to you. Naturally there's a coffee bar and lounge area and loads of video material to drool over.
In case you've forgotten, the Mercedes-AMG One is a plug-in hybrid borrowing a huge amount of Formula One technology. It actually uses a modified turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 from a Mercedes-AMG F1 car, revving out to 11,000rpm. That works in conjunction with four electric motors and the system maximum output is quoted as 1,035hp. All 275 examples of the One have already been sold.
