As the long title suggests, this set isn't for toddlers. Officially it's aimed at over 16s, with 1,290 pieces to put together and, at the end of it, a 1:8 scale model (it measures 34cm long by 12cm wide by 10cm high) to display proudly in your front room. Away from where the actual kids can get their hands on it, obviously.
The exterior detailing is impressive, with 'Silver Birch' paintwork, sloped headlights, wire wheels and Aston Martin 'wing' badges throughout, but it promises to be fun to play with too, as Lego has included loads of the gadgets used by 007 in the film, including a radar tracker, hidden telephone, a working ejector seat, revolving number plates, bullet-proof rear screen, wheel-mounted tyre shredders and, of course, machine guns in the front wings.
Once you're done getting your Bond geek on, pop open the bonnet and you'll find a Lego replica (claimed to be 'detailed') of Aston's straight-six petrol engine.
Anything else?
Other automotive sets in the Lego Creator Expert series still listed for sale on shop.lego.com include the London Bus, Volkswagen T1 Camper Van, Volkswagen Beetle and Mini Cooper. The Aston Martin DB5 joins those as of today.
