Honda Civic Sedan (saloon) coming to Ireland this July.

What's the news?

Honda Ireland is adding a saloon model to the tenth-generation Civic family, with the four-door variant available here from late July.

The Civic Sedan, as it will be known, gains Honda Sensing safety equipment across all models and will be powered by two of the engines as found in the hatchback variants. That means a 1.0-litre VTEC Turbo three-cylinder petrol with 129hp/200Nm, or a 120hp/300Nm 1.6-litre i-DTEC four-cylinder diesel.

On the VTEC Sedan, there's a choice of a automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) or the standard six-speed manual, while the i-DTEC Sedan also uses the manual gearbox as standard, with Honda's nine-speed automatic as an option.
The introduction of the two Honda Civic Sedan models bolsters the Japanese manufacturer's C-segment line-up in this country, as it joins the 1.0 and 1.6 diesel variants of the five-door hatch, as well as the 1.5-litre, 182hp/240Nm VTEC Turbo petrol five-door and the storming Type R hot hatchback model.

The Civic Diesel five-door, incidentally, also now benefits from the nine-speed automatic option, just in time for the new 182 registration plates.

Anything else?

Prices and complete Irish specifications for the Honda Civic Sedan will be announced closer to the car's launch date and we'll bring you full details on all of them as soon as we can.
