Full 1,115hp spec of new Koenigsegg

Swedish supercar maker has detailed its new Agera R - sit down before reading.

The Koenigsegg Agera R's full specification has been revealed by the Swedish firm and includes a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with up to 1,115hp available.

Running on environmentally-friendly bio-ethanol, the Agera R's engine will offer 1,115hp, but on regular pump petrol it will produce a 'mere' 985hp. Even so, weighing in at a low 1,435kg, the Agera R will crack 0-100km/h in 2.9 seconds and 0-200km/h in 7.9 seconds. No top speed figures have been released by Koenigsegg, but the company says the Agera R will comfortably top 320km/h.

Power is transmitted through a seven-speed double-clutch gearbox to the rear wheels. A Formula One-style traction control system is standard for all Agera R's to let the driver tailor the amount of intervention depending on the driving conditions.

The carbon fibre body sits on 19-inch front wheels and 20-inch rear, while a detachable hardtop is standard for all Agera R models. Using F1-derived aerodynamics, the Agera R generates 300kg of downforce at 155mph to make it more stable. Stopping is taken care of by ceramic brake discs.

Standard equipment for all Agera Rs will include a hydraulic lifting system to help the car over speed bumps, four-point seat belts for track day use, a G-force sensor, an ignition key made of silver and leather carpets.

Options available to Agera R customers include visible carbon fibre for the bodywork, front winglets, rear view camera, a ski box for the roof and a sports exhaust.

No word on prices as yet from Koenigsegg or when first deliveries will begin.
