Spec up your new Lamborghini

Reckon you're going to win the lottery? Better get yourself over to the new Lamborghini Aventador website then.

Lamborghini is reporting strong interest in the Aventador LP 700-4.  Since the first VIP customer previews last year the supercar has already sold more units than are scheduled for the first year's production.  Fans can also check out a new website dedicated to the model.

The typical customer will decide on the specification of his or her Aventador in consultation with a Lamborghini retailer.  For the rest of us the new site is an opportunity to check out the colour and interior trim options - and dream about what we might choose if our lottery numbers come up.  It will need to be a pretty big win with a price of about €255,000 before tax.

For that money customers will get a car that, at 1,575kg, is 90kg lighter than the Lamborghini Murcielago. Thanks to 700hp from a new V12 engine, driving through all four wheels, Lamborghini claims a 0-100km/h time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 350km/h.

Deliveries of the Aventador are due to start later this year.  To check out the web site go to www.aventador.com.
