Pure and Legende versions of Alpine A110 to be shown off at Geneva Motor Show.

What's the news?

Alpine, the Renault-owned performance car brand revived with the announcement of the A110 at last year's Geneva Motor Show, is going to expand the sports coupe's offering with two new models called Pure and Legende at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Both versions use the same full aluminium structure and 252hp, 1.8-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine as the A110 Premiere Edition, as well as the seven-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) with a wet-clutch and double-wishbone suspension all round.

Alpine says the Pure is the 'A110 at its lightest and most driver-focused', which makes us very excited because the Premiere Edition is a sparkling sports car as it is. Without giving anything away about precise specs, Alpine further adds that the Pure is 'destined to live its life on winding mountain roads and retains the Premiere Edition's minimalist yet high-quality approach'.

The Legende, by comparison, is luxe-plus, adding more refinement and sophistication to the A110 package to make it better for everyday driving or long-distance touring. Standard equipment is said to include six-way adjustable, lightweight Sabelt seats, full leather interior upholstery trim and gloss-finished carbon fibre sections for the cabin finishers.

Anything else?

Alpine also says three new, unspecified exterior colours will be added to the Alpine range, and we'll find out more details on those and both the Pure and Legende A110 models following the French firm's press conference on March 6. Sadly, we don't look any closer to the Alpine brand being marketed in Ireland.
