We've recently driven the new Polo, which is both longer and wider than the model it replaces. Early indications are that it will build on the already solid base of Polo customers in Ireland and may well eat into sales of the larger Volkswagen Golf.
Straight from its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Volkswagen T-Roc. This all-new model slots into the range beneath the popular Tiguan and gives Volkswagen a foothold in the burgeoning B-SUV segment. Geared towards younger buyers, the T-Roc offers a wide variety of customisation including a multitude of colour schemes and contrasting roofs. It will feature a choice of 1.0- and 1.5-litre petrol engines from the start, with larger diesel engines due to join the line-up in 2018.
For anyone wanting a Volkswagen Tiguan but requiring more room inside, the Tiguan Allspace may be the solution. The second model in the Tiguan range brings with it an extra row of seats boosting capacity to seven. It is the company's first seven-seat SUV here in Europe and will be available with a similar engine and specification choice to the current Tiguan.
Anything else?
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will also have a strong presence at the National Ploughing Championships. It will once again have its off-road course and will give attendees an opportunity to experience the capabilities of the Amarok V6 in partnership with Orangeworks. If you fancy something a little smaller, there will also be the Tiguan 4Motion available to get muddy.
