Volkswagen I.D. Crozz1 moves closer to production

Updated all-electric crossover concept car to be shown at the Frankfurt motor show.

What's the news?

Volkswagen will bring an updated and slightly refreshed version of its I.D. Crozz1 concept car to the Frankfurt motor show, as the all-electric crossover moves closer to production.

The I.D. family is moving on apace, with the Golf-sized I.D. hatchback ready for production in 2020, and the sixties-retro-cool I.D. Buzz combi-van lined up for 2022. The Crozz1 is most likely to appear on sale between those dates, in 2021.

For Frankfurt, Volkswagen has tweaked the front and rear styling of the Crozz1 concept a little, to "point more in the direction of a production model."

There are no more details yet in terms of claimed performance nor anything else, but Volksagen does mention that the flat-floor, under which lie the Crozz1's batteries, means that the interior can be very open-plan, with four individual, adjustable chairs instead of conventional seats.
