What's the news?
Naturally-aspirated, manual, rear-wheel drive coupes are thin on the ground these days, so Nissan should be applauded for persevering with the decidedly old-school 370Z. This V6-engined brute has been around since 2009, so Nissan has decided to apply some changes in an attempt to bring it up to date with more modern rivals like the Porsche Boxster.
You might reckon that rather more than a lick of paint and some other cosmetic updates should be in order at this stage, but Nissan don't. The lights are now tinted front and rear (previously only available on the NISMO edition), there's some new 19-inch wheels, and black accents feature on the body.
Inside, the NissanConnect Premium infotainment system makes an appearance, while a new clutch by Japanese firm Exedy (a familiar brand for JDM enthusiasts) is claimed to reduce pedal effort and bring about more precise gear changes.
That's the lot, the Japanese manufacturer choosing to leave the 328hp lump up front well alone, as well as the six-speed manual and seven-speed automatic transmission options. Keen drivers will be happy to note that the rev-matching Syncro Rev Control is still present, although it can be deactivated if you reckon that your heel-and-toe skills are more than a match for the software...
