Renault Sport reunites Jean-Pierre Jabouille and Alain Prost with their F1 cars.

What's the news?

This year marks Renault's 40th anniversary of involvement in Formula 1 and, to that end, the French company is planning to kick of the celebrations at the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend.

Renault debuted in F1 at the 1977 British GP, with Jean-Pierre Jabouille driving the first-ever turbocharged car to take part in the premier racing series, the RS01.

So it's fitting that at the 2017 Monaco GP, Jean-Pierre will be reunited with the RS01 to drive laps of the Principality's street circuit, while four-time F1 champion, Renault Ambassador and Renault Sport Racing's special advisor, Alain Prost, will join Jabouille in a historic racer, this time his RE40 - featuring Renault's first carbon-fibre chassis, it was the car the Frenchman drove in the 1983 season, in which he missed out on the World Drivers' Championship by two points.

Also appearing in Monaco will be the latest Megane Renault Sport, driven by current Renault F1 driver Nico Hülkenberg, which will be finished in the company's traditional F1 livery of yellow and black.

Anything else?

Jérôme Stoll, president of Renault Sport Racing, said: "Renault is proud of its position as one of the most historic brands in Formula 1. Over the past 40 years our involvement has taken many forms, ranging from the ground-breaking RS01 V6 Turbo, the V10 engine, through the record-breaking V8 era through to our current venture with Renault Sport Formula One Team.

"We have not only gained a tremendous amount of success, knowledge, expertise and experience over these years, we have helped contribute to the sport as it is today. In Monaco, we will celebrate our 40-year history, however our focus is firmly on the future. We recently showcased our vision of a potential Formula 1 future with the RS 2027 Vision and we are dedicated to our ongoing role in Formula 1. Here's to the next 40 years!"

Cyril Abiteboul, Renault Sport Racing's managing director, added: "Monaco is an iconic venue infused with Formula 1 history, what better place to start our celebrations of 40 years than here? We are proud to reunite Jean-Pierre Jabouille once more with his RS01, as well as Alain Prost, who will drive our first all-carbon fibre chassis, his RE40, in which he came so close to claiming the 1983 World Championship. Our technical innovations on track provide inspiration and advancement for our road products, and we showcase the latest manifestation of this with the first glimpse of the exciting All-New Mégane Renault Sport with Nico Hülkenberg."
