Limited edition Bentley convertible

Celebrating its ice speed world record, Bentley has launched a special edition of the Supersports.

Bentley launched a new, limited edition convertible at the Geneva Motor Show.  Just 100 Supersports 'Ice Speed Record' convertibles will be built to celebrate the company's world ice speed record.

The record was set by four-time world rally champion Juha Kankkunen, driving a bio-fuel powered Continental Supersports Convertible.  A section of the frozen Baltic Sea, off the coast of Finland, was used for the attempt.

For the limited edition Ice Speed Record model Bentley has improved the intake and exhaust systems on the 6.0-litre W12.  The result is 640hp and 800Nm, transmitted through a Quickshift six-speed automatic gearbox to all four wheels.

Three exterior paint colours have been selected for the convertible; Beluga, Quartzite and Arctic White.  The convertible roof is finished in dark grey metallic; an effect achieved by using semi-transparent grey acrylic fibre for the hood's outer layer.  A set of dark, 20-inch, ten spoke alloy wheels are fitted.

The interior features a mix of traditional and contemporary materials.  The doors, quarter panels and seat facings are finished in diamond-quilted Alcantara.  High-gloss carbon fibre, with a red weave, is used on the dashboard and roof panel.  The red theme is also picked out in the piping on the seats and in the contrast stitching on the steering wheel and gearshift paddles.

Equipment includes an eight-inch screen used to access the navigation, entertainment and communication systems, backed up by a 30GB hard drive.  There is also a new driver information panel with enhanced graphics.  This provides the driver with information on a range of on-board systems.
