It follows not long after the Crossland X, which was revealed earlier this year as a more SUV-themed replacement for the Meriva. Opel is continuing to move away from the traditional MPV in favour of the more popular SUV style that currently dominates the market. Like the Crossland X, the Grandland X has a floating roof design and sculpted doors that reflect Opel's current design language.
The interior apes much of what has already been seen in the recently launched Insignia Grand Sport and has a simple, ergonomic style. Opel has worked hard to increase the quality of the materials used in its cabins. Fewer buttons and a larger infotainment screen are the order of the day around the centre console, while the raised seating position and slimmer A-pillars aid visibility of the road ahead.

Opel will give the Grandland X its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and it is set to go on sale soon after that. Irish prices and specifications will be confirmed closer to then.
