Six-year partnership will see Porsche cars featuring more prominently in the Forza series of racing games.

What's the news?

Porsche and Microsoft have announced a six-year partnership, which will see the german sports cars featuring more prominently in Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon racing games. The agreement covers racing games and 'eSports' - virtual events where gamers compete against each other.

The Forza Racing Championship (ForzaRC) is said to have the largest online racing community. Based on the XBox racing game Forza Motorsport 6 the 2017 ForzaRC season will include a motorsport championship for Porsche fans.

Registration opened on 12th April with qualifying due to start on 1st May. To join go to http://www.forzarc.gfinity.net/

From today gamers can purchase and download the Porsche expansion pack for Forza Horizon 3, featuring seven vehicles including the 550 Spyder, 911 Carrera RS 2.7 and the 911 GT3 RS.

Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board responsible for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG said: "By having Microsoft as our partner, we have the opportunity to take the pleasure of driving a Porsche and making it an experience in the virtual world. Racing games and eSports connect the real and virtual worlds and enable us to gain further access to the young target group. It means that they can develop a passion for Porsche even before buying their first sports car."
