The plans will kick in next year when Honda launches a new hybrid model featuring a twin-motor setup. The company is also committing to hydrogen fuel cell tech, showing off its latest Clarity fuel cell car in Geneva, which has a claimed 700km range on one tank of hydrogen.

Honda also brought along its NeuV concept electric car to the Geneva Motor Show, already shown earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Designed to be a semi-autonomous urban run-around, it uses a clever computer system that can read a driver's emotional state and help them, hopefully, to make better decisions on routes etc.
