We all know someone who's (whisper it) a bit too in love with cars, but would they actually go so far as to swipe right to one on Tinder? Believe it or not, over 1.5 million people recently swiped right to a Ford Mustang profile, so there's your answer...
In case you're wondering, the Mustang hasn't become a sentient being and it certainly isn't trawling a dating app in search of a meaningful relationship. A profile was set up as part of a competition for five lucky couples to go on a blind date in London in a new Mustang convertible. The tagline was, "It's the date you've been waiting for - Ford Mustang wants to take you on a blind date like no other."
The five couples hit the road, ending up at a retro-themed drive-in cinema beside an original Mustang. Along the way, they were asked some rather personal questions to help break the ice by 'Cupid', voiced by comedian Jarred Christmas. These included everything from 'belfies' to dodgy tattoo locations, but that didn't seem to deter the contestants too much. To see the outcome of the dates, check out the video below.
Ford reckon that showing up for a date in a Mustang is definitely a good start, while Derek Callow of Tinder commented: "The Mustang forever changed the way that people think about American sports cars. Tinder has changed the way that people meet. It made sense for us to work together and spark some new connections."
