What's the news?

Fancy something slinky in the new year? Oh behave... Mercedes has revealed, partially at any rate, the new E-Class Coupe in this short video. The car itself will get a first public outing at the Detroit Motor Show in January.

Rather unsurprisingly, the video shows a car closely related in style to both the E-Class saloon and the C-Class Coupe. In fact, from behind, it might be slightly hard to tell the two cars apart.

Inside, the Coupe gets the same dual-digital display as the saloon, along with a bank of sexy sixties style air vents, and two individual rear seats instead of a bench.

A leaked brochure indicates that four models will be available at first - E220d, E200, E300 and E400 4MATIC petrols. There was no AMG high performance version of the previous E-Class Coupe. Expect that oversight to be rectified this time around.

Mercedes will reveal more of the car at the end of this week.
