Romantic breakdown...

AA supports its emergency services with a bit of romance on Valentine's Day.

AA is to arrive with Lir chocolate and flowers to each of its stricken female members today (February 14). The entire rescue fleet will take to the roads with vans full of red roses and boxes of Lir's Ultimate Indulgence Chocolate Collection.

The gift will be handed over by the AA Patrols. Director of Policy AA Ireland, Conor Faughnan, intends this not only to be a special gesture for this day, but it also apparently supports a safe driving message.

Figures show that 18 per cent of women wear high heels while driving and the AA encourages them to break this habit. A total of 8,500 woman drivers admitted in an AA Rescue survey to wearing such shoes while at the wheel, while 35 per cent of the respondents claimed they never do so. Meanwhile, 23 per cent of the questioned women admitted doing their make-up in the driver's seat; 10 per cent to polishing their fingernails; and another 10 per cent confessed to changing clothes at some point while driving.
