The track-going monster has a full wide-body kit on it and a massive T-bar spoiler on the bootlid, all of which is designed to aerodynamically compress the LC into the tarmac for maximum grip. Like all good track monsters, the LC 500 is trim and it weighs a scanty 1,020kg in this guise.
But if you're imagining a throbbing V8 under that evil-looking nose, think again. The LC racer has a 2.0-litre direct injection turbocharged four-cylinder petrol, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox.

Testing of the racing version of the Lexus LC 500 will start next month, with the coupé making its competitive debut in the Japanese Super GT500 series in 2017, where it will replace the RC F. As for the road-going iteration of the LC, that's not due to hit the streets until spring next year.
