Bearing a distinct visual relationship to the Kadjar, this new car revives a somewhat unloved old Renault nameplate - the Koleos was Renault's first-ever SUV, launched in 2009 and which basically sank without trace because no-one liked it very much.
This new Koleos is likely to do rather better. Under the striking-looking skin, it's basically a Nissan X-Trail (a car we like rather a lot) and so it should be (a) good to drive, (b) well-made and (c) will come with a proven 1.6-litre dCi diesel and 1.6-litre turbo petrol.
Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn will pull the covers off the Koleos at the Beijing Motor Show next week, and sales will start later this year.
