What's the news?
All van-heads rejoice, for Volkswagen is bringing the PanAmerican concept van to production. Essentially this is a jazzed-up T6 Transporter, but frankly that's jazz that's right up our street.
First off, it has all-terrain capability thanks to an optional extra 20mm of ground clearance and standard-fit 4MOTION four-wheel drive. It can be had with any of the current T6 engine range, aside from the most basic diesel model. 17-inch alloys are standard, 18s are an option.
There are unique front and rear bumpers with textured paint and underbody panels to protect the bottom of the van from rough terrain.
You also get tinted windows, smoked grey LED lenses for the lights and PanAmerican logos all over.
Inside there's a chequer-plate floor with rubber mats to maximise utility, but comfort hasn't been forgotten either. So there are leather wraps for the steering wheel and gearshift, Climatronic climate control, entry and exit lights and special seats with leather and Alcantara trim.
