What's the news?
Volvo is giving the popular V40 (it's only out-sold by the Audi A3 in its segment) hatchback a mild update for the 2016 model year, the most obvious part of which is the fitting of the rather cool 'Thors Hammer' headlights lifted from the XC90 and S90.
There are also tweaks to the bumpers, grille and badge, as well as the addition of new colours including Amazon Blue and Denim Blue.
The newly-launched D2 engine (which is a detuned version of Volvo's own 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel) now has the same 89g/km Co2 emissions figure regardless of what wheel or trim options you add to it.
There are also some trim updates, and the range now includes Momentum, Inscription, R-Design and CrossCountry equipment grades.
The Volvo On Call smartphone app is also being upgraded. There's a revised voice control interface for some devices, as well as a function which checks your appointments calendar and automatically alerts the sat-nav to include any places you need to be. There will also be a 'Flic' button included in the app - a customisable one-touch button which you can select a function for, such as locking or unlocking the car.
Other interior changes will include some new trim options including Milled Aluminium, Black Grid Aluminium and Stealth Aluminium.
