Carmel Hannon wins new Alfa Romeo in Newstalk competition

Lucky winner claims Alfa Giulietta for one year.

Newstalk presenter Tom Dunne presented the keys of a brand new Alfa Romeo Giulietta to Carmel Hannon from Cregmore in Co. Galway today (21 January).

Carmel, whose own 12-year-old car ground to a terminal halt only last week, was one of four contestants who entered the competition on The Tom Dunne Show during the week.

Each contested selected an unmarked Alfa Romeo key but only one key started the car. Carmel was the third contestant to attempt turning their key in the ignition and was elated when the car sprang to life.

"I can't believe this is actually real," said mother-of-four Carmel. "Winning this beautiful Alfa Romeo honestly couldn't have come at a better time - we've been really struggling since my old car died last week".

Carmel can now pick between a 1.4 Turbo Lusso or a 1.6 JTDM Turismo in the colour of her choice and will blog about her experiences on Alfa Romeo Ireland's Facebook page. Each runner-up wins an Alfa Romeo driving experience, in association with Newstalk, at Mondello Park.

Alfa Romeo Ireland is also giving away eight more Alfa Romeo Giuliettas as part of its Real People campaign (www.realpeople.ie) that comes to an end next week.
