Fiat Tipo wins Autobest 2016

New Fiat Tipo narrowly beats stiff competition.

What's the news?

The new Fiat Tipo saloon has clinched the title of Autobest 2016, narrowly beating stiff competition from the Opel Astra, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Tucson and Mazda CX-3. It makes Fiat the first brand to win the prestigious award three times.

Fiat is introducing a new model family with the Tipo that will feature a saloon, hatchback and estate, although it is just the latter two that is likely to go on sale in Ireland. The Italian company will sell the Tipo range across 40 countries in the EMEA region.

The Autobest jury is made up of professional motoring journalists from 26 countries in Europe and includes our own Road Test Editor, Dave Humphreys. A number of different criteria is considered when voting such as price, dealer network coverage as well as how the vehicle performs. The voting process is fully transparent so that is can clearly be seen how each jury member voted.
