Infiniti whips covers off Q30 Premium Active Concept

Could this Q30 Premium Active Concept finally bring Infiniti to Ireland?

Here's a teaser that's not a teaser - this is the Infiniti Q30 Premium Active Compact (PAC), the luxury arm of Nissan's new entry-level vehicle that will have its full debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Coming precisely two years after the Q30 Concept shown at the 2013 Frankfurt show, the Q30 PAC is clearly more of a crossover than the hatchback we first thought it would be.
We don't know much about it other than some of Infiniti's typically motoring PR bumf, including the fact it is developed for 'customers seeking urban individuality'. Infiniti is promising a dynamic drive, responsive performance and 'excellent ride and handling'. All bold claims, we're sure you'll agree.

Thing is, we reckon it's a good-looking thing, although there's something very Mazda CX-5-ish about the flanks and that grille at the front? You might be tempted to call it a spindle grille. Which is the Lexus signature. Ah...

Anything else?

Infiniti does not yet have a presence in Ireland but it is hoped this Q30 - built over the water in the UK, at Sunderland - will be the car to change that. Roland Kruger, Infiniti's president, said: "Design is a key pillar of the Infiniti brand - and the new Q30 Active Compact perfectly embodies this approach. The Q30 Active Compact delivers the distinctive design, the driving dynamics and the individuality that our customers expect of an Infiniti vehicle. With our first ever entry in the compact car segment, we continue the product offensive and provide additional options for our discerning customers."

Final testing and development of the Q30 PAC took place in Europe.
