Mercedes-Benz CLS to start from €65,750

The CLS four-door 'coupé' will go on sale in Ireland in February priced from €65,750 with Band B tax.

The stunning new Mercedes-Benz CLS hits Irish showrooms this coming February with an all-diesel engine line-up and emissions as low as Band B.

Kicking off the range is the CLS 250 CDI, which is powered by a 2.1-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine. A seven-speed automatic gearbox is standard, distributing power to the rear wheels. Emissions for this model are an impressive 138g/km, putting it into Band B for road tax. Prices start at €65,750.

Next up is the V6-engined CLS 350 CDI. Thanks to a much cleaner engine than the outgoing CLS 320 CDI, this version is €13,150 cheaper than its predecessor, at €71,700. Emissions are 159g/km, putting it into Band D.

Mercedes-Benz celebrates the 125th anniversary of the car on January 29, the date on which Karl Benz registered the patent for his Benz Patent Motor Wagen. The company has confirmed that it will release a new C-Class Coupé and SLK in April and new B-Class and M-Class models towards the end of the year.
