French car manufacturer Renault has recalled more than 25,000 Captur models after discovering a manufacturing fault, which may lead to brake failure.
It would appear that the arch liner on cars built between January 2013 and November 2014, was incorrectly fitted causing them to run against the brake hose possibly leading to a leak or burst.
Renault says that the problem would result in longer brake pedal travel as well as a partial loss of braking efficiency. Renault does however say that the Captur is safe to drive until the problem is rectified with a warning light appearing on the dashboard long before any terminal damage is done.
Owners of affected cars will be contacted to organise a repair of the problem, which will be carried out free of charge.
