Morgan announces updates for Aero 8

Roof design and 19-inch alloys revealed for Morgan Aero 8.

Remember the Morgan Aero 8 shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March? Well, now we have two very short updates on it, pertaining to the roof and the wheels.

While the spec remains the same for the fifth-generation, aluminium-chassised Aero model, in that it uses a 4.8-litre BMW V8 making 367hp, which sends drive to the rear wheels, this is our first view of how its stowable mohair hood will look when in situ. Looks nice, eh? Morgan says 'images and video demonstrations' of it in action will be forthcoming, although whether anyone finds the folding away of a car's fabric roof exciting enough to watch a video of it is another matter entirely.

In addition, the wheels are worth noting too, as they are a new set of 19-inch multispoke items, taking their inspiration from the Aeromax wheel currently sold, but here lighter and more rigid.

Anything else?

The Morgan Aero 8 should go into production in quarter four of this year, priced at around £70,000 in its native UK. So, expect it to cost a whole lot more if it comes over here to Ireland...
