The Wings for Life World Run will take place this year simultaneously in 35 countries around the globe, including Ireland, on 3 May and once again, Honda will be an official partner. Commencing at 12:00pm in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, the race is somewhat different in that it doesn't have a defined finish line. Instead, a Honda CR-V 'Catcher Car', which will be driven by Irish rugby player, Simon Zebo, will set off from the back of the pack, pursuing runners at a gentle pace. Once the car passes you, your race is finished making the event ideal fun for runners and walkers of all abilities.

The Wings for Life charity was started by Red Bull founder, Dietrich Mateschitz, when his friend and two-time motocross world champion, Heinz Kinigadner's son Hannes had a tragic accident that left him tetraplegic. Since then Wings for Life has gone on to raise millions for spinal cord research. The entire race entry fee of €20 goes to spinal cord research, which will hopefully someday find a way of helping cure some of these life-changing injuries.
