Think of the new model as an open version of the Gallardo Superleggera coupé. The weight saving comes from substituting carbon fibre for various parts of the body and interior. As well as making for a sharper drive the lighter car promises better economy and lower CO2 emissions.
Using the 570hp, 5.2-litre V10 engine, Lamborghini claims a 0-100km/h time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 325km/h. The performance is accompanied by a 'spine-tingling' sound track.
Equipment includes a choice of E-gear or manual transmission, sports seats and Alcantara upholstery.
