Citroen Berlingo gets pink wellies for Geneva

Citroen’s van-cum-car gets rugged stick-on bits to become the Berlingo Mountain Vibe.

Citroen's practical van-based-family car, the Berlingo, is giving in to the demands of fashion and going all rugged and outdoors-y on us. Well, sort of. This is the Berlingo Mountain Vibe and it's coming to the Geneva Motor Show in a couple of weeks.

It uses PSA Group's clever Grip Control traction conceptual system and that is meant to give it the kind of traction and rough surface ability for which you'd normally need four-wheel drive. Indeed, Citroen suggests that: "it is easy to imagine this vehicle scaling the Swiss mountains with its boot full of equipment for mountain sports: climbing, snowboarding or snowshoe walking."

On the outside, the Berlingo gets a glazed 'Modutop' roof for extra light and lots and lots of pink bits. The protective foam on the roof rack is pink, as are the foglight surrounds, the edges of the wheel arches and even parts of the concept car's snow chains. Inside there's more pink amongst the embossed grey upholstery.

And yes, it's going to make it to production. Would you buy one, with the pink stuff all over it?
