New Jaguar C-X75 guest stars in Spectre

Bond baddies get group rate for new cars from Jaguar Land Rover.

If, as Jaguar's recent advertising campaign told us, it really is good to be bad, then the baddest of the bad has just signed a vehicle leasing package with Jaguar Land Rover - the evil global organisation known as the Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion - or SPECTRE.

Don't worry, it's all for fun. SPECTRE is of course the evil organisation that has so often been the nemesis of one Commander James Bond 007 and is the antagonist in the new Bond film, Spectre, which is currently shooting. In both senses of the word...

SPECTRE's bad guys will be driving a Range Rover Sport SVR and highly modified Defender Bigfoots in action sequences being filmed in the Austrian Alps. The Bigfoots have been specially made for the film by Land Rover's Special Operations team and have massive 37-inch wheels for handling really rocky terrain.

But the biggest coup for the movie is the use of Jaguar's concept C-X75 plugin hybrid supercar. It may never see the inside of a showroom but it will have its moment of fame in a high-speed car chase through Rome, versus Bond in his equally exclusive Aston Martin DB10 - a car being specially made by Aston Martin for the film.

Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, John Edwards, said: "This is an exciting partnership for Jaguar Land Rover and an opportunity to demonstrate the fantastic capabilities of the Special Operations team.''
