Porsche adds 911 Targa GTS

The GTS range is extended to include Porsche 911 Targa 4.

Porsche presented the 911 Targa 4 GTS to the world for the first time at the Detroit Auto Show today. It means the GTS specification can now be had on the 911 in three different body styles.

Exterior

Along with all the GTS styling accoutrements (smoked bi-Xenon headlights, gloss black 21-inch alloys, GTS badging and special mirrors for starters), the Targa 4 GTS has 22mm wider hips and 10mm wider rear tyres, befitting its all-wheel drive status. There's plenty of black detailing throughout, though the characteristic roll-over bar is still silver. The electrically retracting roof is unchanged from other Targa models.

Interior

As the GTS model comes with the Sport Chrono package as standard a stopwatch sits prominently atop the dashboard. Other GTS touches include embossed Sport Plus seats and black Alcantara upholstery.

Mechanicals

At the rear is a 3.8-litre flat-six, with power upped to 430hp, produced at 7,500rpm. Porsche quotes a top speed of 300km/h and a 0-100km/h time of 4.3 seconds for the PDK automatic model. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard and all cars will feature four-wheel drive.
