Evoque convertible going into production

Range Rover cabrio 4x4 will go on sale before the end of the year.

Following the sad news that Land Rover will be finally killing off the evergreen Defender this year comes word that the Range Rover Evoque convertible will be going into production. It's not official yet, but given growing demand for such a car from the key US market, Land Rover is likely to show off a production version in June at the Goodwood Festival of Speed before sales start at the end of the year.

Looking more or less identical to the concept version shown three years ago, the arrival of the Evoque convertible will also herald a mid-life update for the whole Evoque range, featuring new 2.0-litre Ingenium engines and a new infotainment system. Rumour has it that Land Rover is also working on a high performance Evoque to sit alongside the well-received 550hp Range Rover Sport SVR.
