Ferrari reveals track-special FXX K

Wild LaFerrari-based track day car has more than 1,000hp.

If you've ever wondered what the ultimate Ferrari would look like, look no further. This is the FXX K, a hybrid powered hypercar designed exclusively for use on track. It comes with a 6.2-litre V12 petrol engine and an electric motor that together develop 1,050hp - and more than 900Nm of torque.

It will never be driven on the road, but will instead be used on track by private clients of Ferrari who won't even bring the car home. Instead, Ferrari will keep it for them and deliver it to the track of their choice when they fancy a spin, along with the technicians and mechanics needed to keep everything operating.

There's a full and unique aerodynamic package, including a Le Mans-spec front spoiler and splitter and dramatic rear vertical fins with tiny winglets attached. Together with a huge rear diffuser and underbody aero, Ferrari says the new bits add up to a whopping 540kg of downforce at 200km/h. Proper race car stuff that.

Also in the proper race car category are bespoke Pirelli slick racing tyres and a full telemetry system that monitors pretty much every function of the car from tyre heat to KERS output. As well as that, the HY-KERS system has four settings controlled by the Manettino switch on the centre console: Qualify, for maximum performance within a limited number of laps; Long Run to optimise performance consistency; Manual Boost for instant maximum torque delivery; and Fast Charge, for a fast recharge of the car's battery.

For the no-doubt astronomical amount of money needed to join the FXX K club (and the fact that Ferrari has to invite you to buy one...) you really will get to play properly at racing driver for the day.

Anything else?

Yes. Can we have one each please?
