Rally livery revealed for Peugeot 2008 DKR

First look at the official colour scheme for the Peugeot 2008 DKR.

Peugeot has revealed the 2008 DKR's 'combat livery', swapping the previously seen black finish for its sponsors' logos. Carrying the colours of Red Bull and Total the 2008 is finished in blue, white and red with a touch of yellow. It is 48 days until the start of the 2015 Dakar Rally on 4th January in Argentina and final preparations are under way.

Swapping the all black colour scheme for one with a white roof should make life more comfortable for the driver and co-driver. One of Peugeot's three drivers, Stéphane Peterhansel, commented: "The fact that the part around the cockpit has been finished in white is an excellent way to protect us from the heat. I've competed in a car with a black roof and I can tell you that it makes a big difference."

This is Peugeot's return to cross-country rallying and although the thousands of kilometres of testing in Morocco is reported to have gone well the company remains cautious about its prospects for the Dakar. Peugeot Sport Director Bruno Famin said that the main objective is to get as many cars as possible as far as possible.

Anything else?
The next step is to load the service trucks plus all the spare parts and equipment onto the ship for the journey to Argentina. The cars will are due one final test in Morocco before being air freighted to the starting point. Planning work for the crews includes a mechanical training course in preparation for any emergency repair work they will have to carry out during the Dakar Rally's marathon leg.
