The Maharaja's Rolls-Royce

Exclusive Drophead Coupé created to promote Rolls-Royce Bespoke programme.

Rolls-Royce has created the Maharaja Phantom Drophead Coupé as a tribute to the cars favoured by India's aristocracy. In the period leading up to independence in 1947 over 840 Rolls-Royce cars were sold to the Maharajas and princes on the sub-continent; a collection of vehicles by the company's Bespoke programme is planned to celebrate the connection with its Indian customers. The car was unveiled at a special, Indian-themed event at the AGMC Rolls-Royce showroom in Dubai.

Exterior
The body is finished in Carrara White with an emerald coachline; India's national bird, the peacock, is incorporated as a design detail. When folded the Deep Green convertible roof reveals the wooden deck inlaid with another peacock motif.

Interior
Continuing the exterior colour theme the interior features cream leather and emerald accents. Embroidered Emerald Green and Cobalto Blue peacocks are found on the headrests while the armrests get a unique stitching pattern. There is also special marquetry inlay on the facia and a Bespoke Maharaja Peacock clock with Cobalto Blue and Jade elements.

Anything else?
The Maharaja Phantom Drophead Coupé is a showcase for the capabilities of the Bespoke programme aimed at customers in the Emirates. Osman Abdelmoneim, General Manager at AGMC explained: "Our customers demand the best, the extraordinary and the unique. Such attributes are the hallmarks of every Rolls-Royce motor car, and are particularly evident in the Rolls-Royce Maharaja Phantom Drophead Coupé".
