Range Rover models updated

New All-Terrain Progress Control and improved six-cylinder diesels for Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.

Land Rover has updated the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport with improved six-cylinder diesels and new technology. These are the first models to get the company's All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC); there is also the option of a head-up display.

Exterior
There are no styling changes but the colour options have been revised with Yulong White now available.

Mechanicals
All-Terrain Progress Control is designed to continually adjust vehicle settings to maintain traction and keep going over gradients, rough terrain and slippery surfaces. Land Rover says the system is designed to maintain a constant, low speed with settings from 1.8 to 30km/h available. The driver to inputs a set speed which is reached and maintained without any driver input once the brake is released. Range Rover TDV6, Range Rover Sport SDV6 (excluding the hybrid) and V8 supercharged models can be specified with ATPC.
Improvements to the 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbodiesel engines comprise two variants; one with improved economy and the other with more power. The Range Rover TDV6 gets a single turbo with ball bearings plus Low Pressure Exhaust Gas Recirculation, a new oil pump and revised injector nozzles. Maximum power remains 258hp with a claimed 8.5 per cent increase in fuel efficiency; up to 6.9L/100km on the combined cycle. A twin-turbo set-up with the other improvements is fitted to the Range Rover Sport SDV6 with different calibration to deliver 306hp and 7L/100km.

Anything else?
An optional Head-up Display shows key information such as speed, gear, navigation and traffic signs in the driver's eye-line. The driver can pre-select which information is shown by the display.
