SsangYong's Air and Adventure double act

Two SsangYong design concepts based on forthcoming B-segment SUV.

What are we looking at?

SsangYong is readying its XIV B-segment SUV/crossover for an international launch ahead of global sales beginning in 2015 - it has shown previews of the vehicle at numerous car shows already. So, for Paris, it punted out two more design concepts of the XIV, called the Air and Adventure.

What's the best thing about them?

While both come with lots of kit, the option of all-wheel drive, stop-start technology and two 1.6-litre engine choices (petrol or diesel), specifics of the show cars are that the Air has a T-top roof so that you can be open to the elements when 'off-roading', while the Adventure has bumper protectors, a 'purposeful' roof rack (is there any other kind of roof rack, we wonder?) and a search light - possibly for hunting kangaroos near Mick Dundee's place, or something.

Show stoppers or floor fillers?

Floor fillers. The XIV might be interesting, in a kind of 'cut-price Kia' sort of way, but these two models are just your regular motor show fluff.
