Infiniti concept for Paris show

Striking Infiniti Q80 Inspiration will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show next week.

Infiniti has released the first details of the Q80 Inspiration, the company's latest concept car, which will make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show on 2nd October. According to the press release it is, 'an audacious and elegant step forward for Infiniti as a global player; designed to shake up the status quo in the premium large four-door club; a no-compromise ambassador of driver-centric powertrain and on-board technologies.'

Exterior
We only have one photo to go on but it is a striking shape with sculpted sides and clean lines thanks to a lack of door mirrors. It is a big car, over five metres long and two metres wide, with 22-inch alloy wheels. To show off the interior and ease access there is no centre pillar and the rear doors hinge at their trailing edge.

Interior
Described as giving the occupants 'a highly stylised and personalised ambiance of the highest quality' the interior promises to be quite special. At the moment there are no photos to back this up but we do know the four occupants will be surrounded by carbon fibre, aluminium and leather. The seating layout is described as 1+1+1+1 which presumably means four individual seats.

Mechanicals
Exact details are still to be revealed but the Q80 will use a hybrid powertrain. Other technological highlights include 'advanced adaptive suspension'. There is also acoustic glass and extra sound deadening promising a drive and riding experience among the very best.

Anything else?
Infiniti's Executive Design Director, Alfonso Albaisa, commented: "In Q80 Inspiration, we wanted to capture that unforgettable feeling when you experience something important, something beautiful, something magnetic for the first time."

The concept is described as showing the company's intention to build a car in the so-called premium fastback segment.
