Peugeot Exalt updated for Paris show

New colour scheme for Peugeot Exalt concept.

Peugeot has given the Exalt concept a new livery ready for its appearance at the Paris Motor Show in October.

Inside, there is locally sourced trim and it gets an electric scooter in the boot. What hasn't changed is the overall shape or the 340hp hybrid drive system. The Exalt is still long, low and sleek with a bare steel front end; at the back the 'shark skin' textile is no longer red.

According to Peugeot a clear division between the two parts of the body is described as 'Coupe Franche'. In its latest form the transition is a more subtle change between unfinished metal and new grey fabric.

For the interior Peugeot sourced 'wood' that is produced locally; for China that meant ebony, which is plentiful in Asia; in Europe 'Newspaper Wood' is used instead. As the name implies it is produced from recycled newspaper; in this case business papers that lend the finished product a distinctive, salmon-pink colour.

In the boot there is a HYbrid-kick Concept folding electric scooter. The idea is that rather than trying to thread the Exalt's 4.7-metre body through the centre of town you can park on the outskirts and complete your journey on two wheels.

Anything else?
Peugeot has designed the Exalt's interior to avoid off-cuts and wasted material. The seat fabric is shaped using clamps to give a finish with crisp folds and no stitching.
