Exagon to show off 800hp EV supercar

Twin motors in carbon fibre body for Exagon Furtive-eGT, to be shown at 'Salute to Style'.

Another day, another electric supercar boasting some astonishing figures that appears almost out of nowhere - this one is French, is called the Exagon Furtive-eGT (no, it really is) and will be on show at the 'Salute to Style' event held at The Hurlingham Club in south-west London this month.

The Furtive's running gear (it's a terrible name, despite meaning 'stealth' in French) is all bespoke, developed by Exagon in co-operation with SAFT (which provides the lithium-ion batteries) and Michelin, which handles the axles and tyres. However, it's the motive power and structure that excite. The eGT is powered by two Siemens electric motors, said to deliver in excess of 406hp each. And they're mounted in a carbon fibre/honeycomb monocoque body with a cast aluminium rear sub-frame. Exagon claims the entire shell weighs just 124kg, so the power-to-weight ratio of the Furtive should be incredible. Indeed, the 0-100km/h sprint is demolished in 3.5 seconds. The Furtive-eGT will be made to order and is said to be a four-seater, although looking at it we're guessing it'll be more of a 2+2. There has been an international waiting list for this thing since it was shown as a concept at the 2010 Paris Show apparently.

Anything else?
"We have the same approach as jewel-makers to high-end manufacturing and bespoke craftsmanship," says Luc Marchetti, founder of Exagon Motors. "France has a unique focus on virtuosity and creativity when producing works of art. Every Furtive-eGT made so far has been created specially for its owner, and leading designers have penned each one according to the individual's interpretation."
