The event was organised to help raise funds for the four major cancer charities in Ireland: The All Ireland Cooperative Oncology Research Group; Friends of St. Luke's Hospital; The Children's Cancer Fund, Our Lady's Hospital, Crumlin; and The Marie Keating Foundation.
For its part, Fiat Ireland donated a Fiat 500 1.2 Pop to the charity raffle and such was the buzz surrounding the car it generated some €30,000 in ticket sales, making up a substantial portion of the approximate €250,000 raised in total on the night. The Fiat 500 1.2 Pop was eventually won by Sallyanne Sherry from Ballsbridge in Dublin.
