Updated Rolls-Royce Ghost at Geneva

New look, improved comfort and more technology for the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II.

Rolls-Royce revealed the updated Ghost Series II at the Geneva Motor Show. There is a subtle restyle and more technology, all designed to provide a relaxing environment for successful captains of industry.

Exterior
According to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös , "The customers' main message was: 'Don't mess with the shape'," so the visual changes are subtle. At the front the daytime running lights provide a frame for the new-look headlamps. The front bumper is also reshaped and gains a thin chrome lip around the enlarged lower air intake. A tapered 'wake channel' trailing from the Spirit of Ecstasy has been added to the bonnet and Rolls-Royce has redesigned the 'waft line' to lean further forward for a more dynamic look.

Interior
Redesigned seats promise even greater levels of comfort. The front passenger seat gains electrically adjustable thigh support and the back seats can be set in 'lounge seat' configuration, angled towards each other for a more intimate atmosphere. Other design changes include new instrument bezels designed to resemble luxury wristwatches. Customers who want to work on the move will appreciate the on-board wi-fi. Voice control can be used to operate the navigation or make telephone calls or there is a touch pad which recognises English, Arabic or Mandarin alphabetic characters.

Mechanicals
Satellite Aided Transmission, as seen on the Rolls-Royce Wraith, is now fitted to the Ghost too; this uses GPS data about the road ahead to select an appropriate gear ratio. New hydraulic rear axle bearings are designed to improve ride quality and rear end stability.

Anything else?
The tag line for the updated Rolls-Royce Ghost is, 'An oasis of calm in a frenetic business world'.
