Maserati to evoke 100 years at Geneva show

Two new Maseratis poised for Geneva reveal, including new concept.

Maserati is set for a double premiere at this week's Geneva motor show. Set atop the backdrop of the Italian brand's 100 years, the two new models will, according to their maker, evoke the past provenance and future design direction for the glamorous Italian trident.

First off, Maserati will debut a limited edition of the luxurious Quattroporte, similar to the study revealed at the 2013 Frankfort Motor Show. Christened the Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna, only 100 examples of the ultra-exclusive limousine will be made, in partnership with the Italian luxury fashion house. We're told that special high quality touches will adorn the car such as distinctive colours and materials. The limited edition Quattroporte goes into production this year.

Maserati will also reveal a new concept car to give Geneva show visitors a glimpse of how the next 100 years at the house of Maserati will approach its design. Information on the concept is scant prior to the reveal, but with an SUV model known to be close to showroom-ready it's expected that the show car will be from the sports car side.

Anything else?
Why, yes. For the truly well-heeled seeking exclusivity and a refuge from the bog standard Quattroporte that a certain Mr Berlusconi might travel in, good news is at hand. Maserati will unveil both cars at 9am CET (afraid that's 8am for you, Bono) tomorrow (Tuesday March 4th).
