Porsche shows $1 million advent calendar

It's still too early to talk about Christmas, but we've made an exception for this Porsche advent calendar.

This is the $1,000,000 (€740,000) Porsche Design advent calendar.  The 1.75m tall aluminium box has 24 doors - one for each day in December leading up to Christmas - and contains a biblically lavish set of pre-Christmas gifts.

No frankincense or myrrh, but there's enough gold in there to satisfy even Johann van der Smut. Only five will be made, limited to one per continent, and although Porsche Design isn't giving away its full contents (so as not to ruin the surprise) it's pretty safe to guess that December 17's door isn't hiding a reindeer shaped bit of Dairy Milk.

The stuff we do know about is epic. First there's the 525hp RFF28 speed yacht, worth $380,000 (€280,000) before taxes and without considering the custom parts Porsche Design will happily add. Then there's a fully fitted Porsche Design custom kitchen, and the $225,000 (€167,000) P'6910 rose gold Indicator watch.

Obviously the yacht won't fit in the case, so instead it'll be represented in the calendar by an illuminated aluminium plaque. Other items include a set of gold sunglasses ($3,400), some diamond studded gold cufflinks ($7,160), a hand made lambskin jacket, a luggage set, a set of pens and a pair of Adidas Bounce:2 trainers. No cuddly toy, sadly.

So, if you've got a spare $1,000,000 and the will to make Christmas morning itself a royal anti-climax, get in touch with Porsche Design quickly.
