Ford sound-checks 'EcoSport Live!' concert

Emerging Irish talent Delorentos for 26th February Ford web event.

To coincide with the arrival of the new EcoSport SUV - what Ford calls a Smart Utility Vehicle - into multiple European markets, the company has announced details of a free concert to be held in February to showcase 10 emerging music acts. Hosted by Sarah-Jane Crawford, 'EcoSport Live!' can be heard on Spotify or streamed live on Ford of Europe's YouTube Channel from 8pm (Irish time) on 26th February, direct from Barcelona.

Interest for Irish audiences includes a performance from the alternative rock band, Delorentos. Other acts include French singer Mickael Miro, German Indie band, Hello Gravity and soul diva Nina Zilli. The 'EcoSport Live!' campaign will also see 100 new Ford EcoSport SUVs being loaned out to bloggers in fashion, music and food across European markets for up to six months.

It's hoped that the bloggers will provide useful feedback on the EcoSport's SYNC and AppLink technology, which allows the driver of the new SUV to experience live connectivity via their smartphones to app providers such as Spotify and Radioplayer. Also, Ford will announce events for each participating country including celebrity drives and local challenges.

Anything else?
Everything kicks off at 8pm (Irish time) on 26th February at the Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona. It will be hosted by Ford's Chief Technical Officer and Vice President of Research, Paul Mascarenas. So put a date in your diary.
