After two 911 GT3s caught fire, Porsche stops deliveries for investigation.

Recently, two examples of the new Porsche 911 GT3 (991) are reported to have caught fire, causing big concern at the Stuttgart HQ. The two cars, one in Italy and the other in Switzerland, are reported to have been burnt out completely due to an as yet unknown cause. Porsche has halted deliveries of the GT3. An investigation has already begun and the Volkswagen Group expects it to conclude by this week, the result of which will determine the next steps by the carmaker.

Anything else?
The type-991 911 GT3 has been in news since the time it was launched because of various reasons. Yes, it still deservingly sits at almost the top of the 911 line-up, but the introduction of a new 3.8-litre flat-six engine (in place of the legendary Mezger unit) and a seven-speed PDK (dual-clutch) gearbox have been the reasons behind lot of raised eyebrows.
