Volkswagen dealer steps in to prevent family breakup

Never let an iPad come between one man and his van.

Corkman Padraic Corcoran recently came to the public's attention with his private advertisement offering his beloved Volkswagen Transporter van for sale thanks to his novel (and honest) sales approach. The advert on the DoneDeal.ie website stated, "She's in great running order but 'The Man' says I need some paperwork to put her on the road. She needs a bit of love to get her through the DOE but I may as well be looking at a cow's arse as trying to fix her myself."

His reason for selling the van came down to his need to purchase a new iPad, and it seemed that offloading his van would be the only choice. That was until the team at Blackwater Motors in Cork saw the van for sale and rather than seeing Mr Corcoran have to part with his Transporter, decided to help him in his quest for an iPad.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland Brand Director, Alan Bateson, said, "The advert made us all laugh, but we didn't like to see the van go for the sake of an iPad so between ourselves and Blackwater Motors in Cork, we decided to allow Padraic to keep a hold of his van and get his iPad."

Anything else?
In addition to handing over a new iPad, Blackwater Motors also gave Padraic's van a head-to-toe valet so it feels almost as good as new. Now he just needs to take on that DOE test!
